CC3200-LAUNCHXL: unhandled exception in Radio Tool v1.2 application due to missing CC3200Lib.dll

Part Number: CC3200-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CC3200, CC3100

unhandled exception in Radio Tool v1.2 application due to missing CC3200Lib.dll.

I successfully used UniFlash v3.4.1.00012 to install the service pack and RadioTool.bin.  Can you advise on what maybe causing this error?

  • Hi,

I have tested this version of RadioTools without any issue (Win 10 Pro 21H2).

Please make sure that file CC3200Lib.dll is not missing at \CC3100_CC3200_RadioTool_1.2\RadioToolApplication\ directory. If file is missing, re-install radio tools.

  • I checked and CC3200Lib.dll does exist.  the Radio tool application does not seem to find it.  I am not sure if this is due to some application version update or board flashing (which appear to have completed without any error messages using the UniFlash tool).  I am going through the reinsalls all over again, even thought I am not convinced I will be doing something different, just on the off chance I downloaded the wrong version of an applcation.  Any thoughts?

  • My board say CC3200-LaunchHXL but the available service pack on the TI site has the following read me notes, do I need an older version of the service pack (if so, it is much much older):

  • here is a short list of what I am installing:

  • Hi,

I don't think that your issue is related to not-properly flashed radiotool app or ServicePack inside LaunchPad.

Please read this and this thread. Errors at this thread are related to CC3100Lib.dll, reasons (missing proper MSVCR100.dll) should be same at your case.

  • Hi Jan.  thanks you for referring me to those threads.  the second link describes a similar problem, it is 8 years removed, so I looked at the what I think is the equivalent MS Visual C++ install.  I have a bunch both for x86 and x64.  Without knowing what else it is looking for, It is a shot in the dark as it appears I have no window updates pending...

    can you advise something else?

  • Hi,

Microsoft redistributable packages are not backward compatible. If software is build with 2010 and this exact redistributable package is not installed, software will not work.

For example I have at my computer installed:

    • 2005 x86 and x64
    • 2008 x86 and x64
    • 2010 x86 and x64
    • 2012 x86 and x64
    • 2013 x86 and x64
    • 2015-2019 x86 and x64
