HI Support,

I have been using the Azure SDK v4_10_01_01 in a project. I want to implement OTA with the Present SDK. I recently found out that Azure provides an Device Upgrade (OTA) feature.

Is there any TI based sample example or demo project that has Device Update feature. If yes please provide the links for the sample.

Hi Sai,

TI has its own propriety OTA example that was supported in older SDKs such as SDK 4.XX

to get a better understanding of how the OTA works you can take a look at this link:

in the current SDK the TI OTA is integrated into examples such as mqtt client.

Thanks for the response.

Need a bit more clarity regarding Azure SDK v4_10_01_01. Does it use Azure IoT SDK for C?

As posted above, according to my understanding Azure uses azure-iot-middleware-freertos to integrate ADU service on top of Azure IoT SDK for C.

So if TI based Azure SDK use Azure IoT SDK for C, then that would be helpful for me.

Hi Sai,

We do not have a demo that shows the entire OTA process using Azure. The OTA bundle would have to be loaded from the Azure cloud to the CC32xx device. There is a MQTT demo in the Azure plugin that demonstrates how to connect to the IoT hub, or you can also load a file using HTTP.

Then you can write the bundle to the file system and run the update using the OTA examples in the SDK as a reference. Take a look at the Cloud OTA example from the CC32xx SDK and the OTA application note.
