WL1837MOD: WiFi and BT Security

We are using firmware versions R8.7 SP3 for Wi-Fi and P2.148 (TIInit_11.8.32.bts) for Bluetooth. I have a few questions on security:

1. What types of security are supported for WiFi and BT in the firmware versions listed above?

2. Does Wi-Fi support FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification?

3. Does BT support FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification?

4. Is WPA3 supported with firmware version R8.7 SP3?

Hi,

WiLink8 supports FIPS 140-2 : https://csrc.nist.gov/Projects/Cryptographic-Module-Validation-Program/Certificate/3257 . It's for IEEE 802.11i (Wi-Fi ) compliant AES-CCM core.

WPA3 is supported from release R8.8 onwards. R8.7_SP3 doesn't support it. For Wi-Fi security modes supported in vR8.7_SP3 , refer to section 2.3 https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swru423a/swru423a.pdf

WiLin8 is BT 5.1 compliant
