CC3200: Planning to use this Wifi tag solution in Hospital environment,

Part Number: CC3200

Need info on whether this IC can work in Radiology and MRI scan rooms?

By adding this Wifi setup in  Radiology and MRI scan rooms will it cause any interventions in the equipment?

Also please share if there are any performance reports in such environments or already implemented examples.

Regards,

Abhishek

  • Hey Abhishek,

I don't really see a reason why not, if there are other Wifi equipped electronics in the room then that would reinforce this. I'm no expert in Radiology and MRI scan rooms, but I do know these devices are used in a wide variety of medical devices. Unfortunately, I don't have any system level test reports as that would be typically done by the end product developer.

  • Hi Abhishek,

According my experience such hospital environment may to be challenging for consumer grade electronic without properly designed shielding. Near to MRI and CT may to be high level of EM interferences. This need to be take into account and do not install devices next to high voltage cables, etc. Radiology may to be problematic too, depending type of equipment which are used there. Especially serial flash memories are susceptible to ionising radiation. If you don't have experience with design devices into such environment, this can be risky...
