CC3200MOD: SAR Exclusion Internal Testing

I am currently doing internal FCC SAR exclusion analysis for this module. Specifically when using Wi-Fi direct. I have looked through a few datasheets and have not been able to find the data I need to complete my test. I am looking for:

Wi-Fi Direct absolute minimum transmit rate possible on this module (Mbps). So the minimum transmit rate on the slowest Wi-Fi standard that Wi-Fi direct uses. (802.11b/g/n etc.)
Wi-Fi Direct maximum transmit power possible on this module (dBm) when using the slowest Wi-Fi standard mentioned above.

My specific part # is CC3200MODR1M2AMOBR

Hi Jessica. I see a graph in the FCC certification report that shows the maximum output power on the Wi-Fi modulations 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n. This is helpful. However, I do not know what modulation or modulations Wi-Fi Direct uses.

Jessica. For clarity, I am referring to Peer to Peer (Wi-Fi Direct). The slowest possible transmission rate using P2P. Thank you.

Hi Erin,

My assumption is that the slowest rate possible on this module is 1Mbps for 802.11b (1DSSS), which has a typical TX power of 17.0dBm.

I believe Wi-fi direct would still use the same data rates that you can transmit, the supported rate values on our device are:

802.11b:

1 Mbps(DSSS)

2 Mbps(DSSS)

5.5 Mbps(CCK)

11 Mbps(CCK)

802.11g:

6 Mbps(OFDM)

9 Mbps(OFDM)

12 Mbps(OFDM)

18 Mbps(OFDM)

24 Mbps(OFDM)

36 Mbps(OFDM)

48 Mbps(OFDM)

54 Mbps(OFDM)

802.11n:

6.5 Mbps(MCS0)

13 Mbps(MCS1)

19.5 Mbps(MCS2)

26 Mbps (MCS3)

39 Mbps (MCS4)

52 Mbps(MCS5)

58 Mbps(MCS6)

65 Mbps(MCS7)
