We are planning to use the TI WL1835/1837 WiFi + BLE module with Soc of DSPG. Here, we are trying to use the HSP Profile to integrate Bluetooth Headset with our Product. To achieve this I have a few questions regarding the TI WL1835/1837 module.

1. Is the TI WL1835/1837 is compatible with BlueZ stack?

2. Does the HSP Profile supported by the TI WL1835/1837 Transceiver?

3. Please advise the document or List of HCI commands to configure the PCM interface of TI WL1835/1837?

4. Does TI have a BT PCM integration driver of TI WL1835/1837 for Linux version 5.x?

5. Please share the Linux OS base demo application if possible.

Soc Information: It's support PCM/I2S interface with Master and Slave both mode. Arch: ARM926, Linux-5.x version.

Please assist with sharing information.

Hi Shailesh,

1.) The WL18XX is compatible with any stack that sends HCI commands through the host (so yes its compatible with BlueZ) however, TI wont help support the development with other stacks other than the Bluetopia Stack we offer. But feel free to use BlueZ, many people do.

2.) Yes the HSP profile is supported.

3.) Here is a link for the Vendor Specific HCI commands supported by the WiLink device

5.) The only demo we offer for Linux distributions will be the BluetopiaPM stack demos which you can find here.

Is the Bluetopia stack is compatible with other Soc.?

Hi Shailesh,

The BluetopiaPM is not an open source stack and is currently only supported by the WL18XX and CC2564 Devices.

Hi Rogelio,

As per my understanding the Bluetopia stack is running on the AM335x Soc. while in our case we are using the DSGP Soc. So Is the stack is compatible with DSGP Soc?.

Please let us know your view on it.

Hi Shailesh,

Im not sure what the DSGP Soc is, but I am assuming its a Linux Host. BluetopiaPM should be compatible with any host that is compatible with the toolchain it uses.
