CC3300: AC-HOC ICs or modules

Part Number: CC3300
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837

I need to select an IC or a module for Ad-hoc networking. Can someone please give examples of what IC or modules TI provides for the same if possible with Bluetooth on it.

I found 1 which is WL1273L.

I need to know what exact term I should be looking into the datasheet for ad-hoc.

Thank you.

  • Do you need Bluetooth (which is only available in WL18xx - e.g. WL1835 or WL1837) or BLE (which you can also find in the newer CC33xx - e.g. CC3301).

Are you referring to 802.11 ad-hoc support? Both families of device support AP, station (or multirole, i,e. AP+station simultaneously) roles which you can use for setting up a local network.
