CC3235S: connecting to the CC3235S custom board issue

Hi All,

I have designed a custom board based on CC3235S (replicate the design, provided in the datasheet). It powers up properly, and I can see the 1.9 and 1.2 volts on the DCDC ANA and DIG outputs.

The SOP pins are configured as 010 as suggested by the documentations.

Trying to connect to the device in uni flash via serial port, it just keep returning 'timeout' error. I have also tried different SOP configurations as well.

Re the programmer, I am using a Launch-CC3235S board to program the MCU; RX, TX and RST pins from the Launch-CC3235S headers are connected to the custom board. The connections have been carefully checked.

Is there any hint on what could be the potential issue, or any suggestion for fault finding?

Any help is really appreciated.

Hi Saber Bafti,

First of all have you been able to successfully program just the CC3235S device on the launchpad with uniflash?

When connecting to the CC3235S device on your custom board are you using the onboard XS110 of the launchpad? If using the Launchpad are you removing all the jumpers on the board and connecting to only the RX, TX, RST and GND pins?

When designing your custom board did you review the CC3x35 Hardware Design Checklist (Rev. A) and CC3135, CC3235 SimpleLink Wi-Fi® and IoT Solution Layout Guidelines?
