CC3220MODA: Isolators required Isolate the Neutral

Part Number: CC3220MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220MOD

Hi,

Subjected to previous post ADS1018, We are developing Energy Metering Device using Energy Meter-ADC IC (EMIC) and CC3220MODASF12MOBR (MCU), On module PCB Antenna will be present. We are having following query, kindly advice.

1. Can we directly connect Energy meter IC SPI communication pins and other GPIO pins to the MCU without Isolator ? In this scenario,  Neutral should be connected to the MCU Ground. so, in this case Neutral or any other communication signals will affect the MCU Wi-Fi RF performance ?

2. If you are recommended to use Isolators, Current limiting resistors required between EMIC and Isolator (1) or Isolator and MCU (2) or both side(1 and 2) required?

Thanks and regards,

Naveen K
