BP-CC3301: calibrator set_manual_calib

Part Number: BP-CC3301

Tool/software:

Dear Sir:

Inside the CC33XX WiFi Toolbox User guide. Inside "Radio Tool User’s Guide",  it is written

Wi-Fi TX
In this mode the device will transmit packets depending on the chosen parameters. To get optimal RF performance first hit Tune Channel, then Calibrate, and lastly TX Start respectively every time the chosen channel is changed.

And we are planning to do the RF testing during production, and I ever find a command in my last post for the calibration.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless-connectivity/wi-fi-group/wifi/f/wi-fi-forum/1296028/bp-cc3301-how-to-generate-cc33xx-nvs-bin/4923077#4923077

And the SimpleLink CC33XX Calibrator Tool User's Guide and CC33xx Production Line Guide (Rev. A)  or even the CC33XX Linux User's Guide inside the release driver does not have the example with set_manual_calib command.

What I want to ask is inside CC33XX Linux User's Guide inside the release driver, the Calibrator Tool Guide show the example as below:

I would like to know, if we want to get the optimal PHY performance as described inside SWT user guide. The command set_manual_calib -rx 1 -tx 1 should right after tune_channel command or it should be last command before start_tx or any other place?

Regards,

  • Hi CK,

Good question, I made a note to include this in that example. The set_manual_calib command can be issued anywhere in that sequence after the tune_channel command and before the start_tx command. I expect in most case it comes immediately after the tune_channel since it needs to be done every time tune happens.
