Hi,

My customer is asking if WPS connection can be done only 5GHz band.
According to datasheet, WiFi direct is only supported on 2.4GHz.

As WiFi Direct is mandatory for WPS, this means WPS only works on 2.4GHz, not 5GHz, correct?

Hi,

Wi-Fi Direct is supported on 2.4GHz and since WPS is mandatory, it works on 2.4GHz as well.

However, this does not mean that WPS is not defined to work on 5GHz as well.

I have not tried it personally with CC3235 device.

Hi,

WPS is supported on both bands.

Just to clarify, Wi-Fi direct is done only on 2.4GHz and during the negotiation, the device may declare that the operating channel it wants to connect on is 5GHz band. In this case, the WPS would take place on 5GHz.
