CC3200MOD: CC3200MODR1M2AMOBR adaptivity test required by CE standard

Part Number: CC3200MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200,

Tool/software:

Hello e2e,

We want to fulfill adaptivity test required by CE standard in WiFi-control device used TI CC3200MODR1M2AMOBR.

Standard requirement is as below:

The UUT shall connect to a companion device during the test.Configure the UUT for normal transmissions with a sufficiently high payload resulting in a minimum transmitter activity ratio (TxOn / (TxOn + TxOff)) of 0,3. Where this is not possible, the UUT shall be configured to the maximum payload possible.

Simple understanding:

UUT connect to station device, fulfill the function of change channels & 802.11 b/g/n standards and maximum payload。

How can we realize the function? Please show us detail operation guide, if we need to send programing command, please share us the detail template.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

For radio testing for certification purpose are intended radio tools (CC3100-CC3200-RADIO-TEST). Radio tools you can downland here. Description how to use radio tools for CC3200 you can find here.

btw ... why your customer need to do adaptivity test for CE certification? What is exact standard number (EN xxx) which he want to test? CC3200MOD have issued CE declaration conformity according RED directive (2014/53/EU). As far I know adaptive testing is not needed due to issued CE DoC. Only exception can be, if devices is designed according some other standard which requires some additional testing beyond the scope RED.

  • Hello Jan,

The product(A wifi control device, connect to driver control unit and through wifi connected to PC or Mobile phone to control the driver) is doing SRRC(China WIFI Certificate),and there is a test called adapativity test which is same as below CE standard:

    Test standard : EN 300 328 V2.2.2

    Test requirement : EN 300 328 V2.2.2, Clause 4.3.2.6

    Limit : EN 300 328 V2.2.2, Clause 4.3.2.6

    Test suites : EN 300 328 V2.2.2, Clause 5.4.6

So they need the product fulfill below function to do related test:

UUT connect to station device, fulfill the function of change channels & 802.11 b/g/n standards and maximum payload。

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

OK, it make sense now. Radio tools should work fine for tests according to EN 300 328 V2.2.2. But make sure that you are downloading right version of Radio tool. Please download CC3100-CC3200 not a CC3xxx version.

  • Hi,

Nice to contact you. I am certificate engineer of Siemens Ltd., China Nanjing Motion Control Research and Development Branch. Thanks for your quick response. I checked the user guide of CC3100-CC3200,it only has more option“Current” interface like below. How can we payload and connect to station device and select channels & 802.11 b/g/n standards?

Because of the project schedule is very urgent, could share us your convinient time & email address and we have a short meeting guide us about how to fulfill above functions? Thanks a lot.

  • Hi,

    Few comments:

    • What exact device do you use? It is CC3200 or CC3220? If is is used CC3200, that you have wrong radio tools (you have radio tools for CC3220/CC3235 devices).
    • Radio tools is intended for testing at not connected mode. From this reason you not find there anything related to STA connection. If you want to test adaptive channel access mechanism which is done by NWP/MAC itself at connected mode, radio tools will not help you with this task.
    • There is no sl_ API for connected mode to control 802.11 mode (b/g/n). At transceiver mode you can do RX, TX. Transceiver mode for CC3220 is described at SWRU455 chapter 13.

I am not a TI employee, from this reason I am not sharing my email contact. I don't have guideline what is best setup for 5.4.6 adaptive tests. Maybe some TI employee can help you with this test setup.

  • OK, thanks for your quick relpy~ I will contact Local TI FAE, have a nice day~

  • Hi Qian Wang,

Basically the High level setup for Adaptivity testing will look like this:

    Hope this can be helpful.
