Tool/software:
1. Does CC3351/CC335x support 802.11ax MU?
2. if supported, do you have any whole line calibrator command line examples?
calibrator -preamble_type 6 xxxxxxxxx xxx xx x x x x x x
where 6 = MULTI_USER_MODE_802_11AX

Hi Michael,
Yes, the device does supports 802.11ax MU.
Regarding APIs within the calibrator tool, let me check that and I'll get back to you.
By the way, what AP are you using?
Best regards,
Omri
thanks, I already have SINGLE_USER_MODE_802_11AX = 5 working for various mcs/ltf_size/gi, but my earlier notes were that MU was not behaving as expected. If you have working ax MU command line example this would be really helpful.

Hi Michael,
From what I know you don't need to configure anything in the device. The MU is managed entirely by the AP.
So I don't anticipate any issues here from the device's perspective.
If anything arises later, feel free to approach us again.
Best regards,
Omri
I believe the CC3351 only supports MU-MIMO in the downlink, which means it won't be generating MU-MIMO frames.
Pretty sure PREAMBLE type 6 is not supported (and calibrator utility help says this as well).
AX OFDMA frames that are are supported are the TB ones (8 and 9)
Hi Dean,
I've verified this issue, and you are correct, the device indeed only supports MU-MIMO in the downlink.
The calibrator tool essentially sets the device as a PLT role (product line testing) for evaluation purposes, and when using it the device does not function as a STA.
Hence, it mentioned there that the PREAMBLE type 6 is not supported since the device does not support transmitting MU-MIMO packets.
Let me know If you have further questions.
Best regards,
Omri
