Hi,

I am using AM62x Processor and CC3301MOD for WLAN/BLE connectivity. In order to prepare for Radio certification, I found that TI recommends to use "Radio Tool" via Simplelink-WiFi. When I looked into TI setup used for CC330xMOD certification, there is a WLAN module board and a MCU / MPU board. This makes sense for module level certification. However, I would like to use only the "Radio Tool" for the test house to control the module in our product. I would like to know the radio tool can be used with the products using AM62x processor. If so, which physical medium is possible to use. Also, I would like to know if Radio Tool is prepared to communicate with Linux based AM62x or not.

Hi Mithlesh,

RadioTool is useful because it provides a GUI. We have a command line tool called calibrator tool that can do all of the same things, just from the command line.

It is still possible to use RadioTool with the CC33xx on your board with the Am62x, but the AM62x must NOT communicate with the cc33xx, at all. Thus, it is much simpler to use the calibrator tool.

Hi Sabeeh,

Thanks a lot for quick response. I looked into the options. Calibrator tool seems to be not suitable for test house. Radio tool seems to be right one but precondition to isolate processor looks difficult. I am exploring other options like using LP-XDS110 from TI (so that we can use Radio Tool from TI) and CC3301MOD from our device. I am not sure if this will be acceptable as legal testing method or not. I assume that it's possible to get more details on LP-XDS110 regarding WLAN-BLE stack.
