Cant compile basic wifi application in CSS and IAR please help.

How do i setup IAR so that when i click "Download and debug" that it downloads it to the device that is plugged in via usb.

You don't need any special setting in the IAR, just follow this section in the Basic wifi app wiki page:

Sorry to bother you again with this.

Ok i am following that tutorial. But i just have a question.

In step 3 for IAR.

it says this:

     3. In the Workspace window, right-click Example Application - Debug to open a menu. From the menu, select Options (see the figure below).

but that is all it says, it doesn't tell you to change any thing or check if some thing is selected.   the next command is:

4. Build your workspace as follows:

It seems as if some thing was left out? or am i being daft?

You are right. It is unnecessary step. I will remove it. There is nothing need to be changed in the option menu.

Just skip to the build workspace step.

Great. Thanks i have gotten it working now.

Build it and ran it. it uploaded to the board.  

And now led 5 is lit up.

This is where i now need to communicate to the board via serial.

I have tried hyper terminal , putty and terminal applications and i cannot seem to get the " Example app driver version text" display and when i send commands i am not getting any replies.

What could be my issue here ?  I changed baud rate to 115200 :

• Bits per second: 115200
• Data bits: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow control: None

Did you choose the correct com port in the hyper terminal? Please confirm with device manager.

Yes i defiantly have, I checked in device manager and hyper terminal.  It connects

in other terms it finds the com port and says connected. But i just get a blinking cursor. No welcome message and i cant type any thing. 

Have checked com settings many times. Have changed ask II settings as well to same as tutorial.

If LED5 is on it means the application is running.

Something is not correct with your com port interface.

Try stopping the debug mode, reset the device and see if you see any print. Maybe the IDE holds the com port?

I have got it working with terminal application.

I had to press reset button on board for it to show text>

also a note. when it does connect to AP. LED 5 to 8 come on. but android app button is still red and spinning. I know from trying the demo sensor app that it should say finished.  Im not sure what could be causing this issue?
