How to measure the CC3200 current consumption in LPDS mode (Idle profile application)?

Hi,

I try to measure the current consumption in LPDS mode but the result is seems not good enough.

The experimental environment as below:

Hardware : CC3200 Launchpad rev.4.1

Firmware: Idle Profile Application on CC3200 SDK 1.1.0 , and do not change any setting.

Current measurement by multi-meter and measure the J12. When the CC3200 connected to AP and working a while, the measurement as below:

Min: 280uA,

Max: 14mA

Avg: 3mA

I am not sure it is good enough because the current consumption in LPDS should be ~700uA (showing on Wiki). Please someone give a hint.

For this we use a high speed current measurement equipment from Agilent which has high dynamic range and speed at the same time. you would possibly need to use something like that to measure the current. Using a multimeter to do this is almost impossible. The error will be too high due to the lower sampling rate.
