Reg Support on CC3200 Smart Plug reference design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDC-SMARTPLUG-WIFI, CC3200

Dear All,

One of our customer have designed our SMART PLUG PCB with the reference of TI TIDC-SMARTPLUG-WIFI(tidrb17) design.

But they are facing some issues with relay. Relay is not  working & they followed exactly same design.

Kindly confirm the transformer voltage is coming in the design

Also schematics is attached for reference.

  • Hi Aravind,

First, apologies for the delay in responding to this E2E post; did the customer determine where the problem was?

I have moved this thread to the CC3200 Forum, this group has experts on the SmartPlug design.

Can you also let us know how the RELAY was determined to be at fault?  Is the control voltage for the relay changing correctly?  What is being used to control the SmartPlug?  Are you seeing the correct dc voltages on the power supply rails?  And I'm not clear on your question about xfmr voltage.

  • the relay used in the TI design is an SSR which is operating from 3VDC and has Sharp PN: S212S01F
the customer used Hongfa relay series HF3FA, they should check full part number of the part they usesd, as that series has 3, 5, 6, 12, 24 and 48VDC versions, which would explain the problem, if they chose one which is not matching what they did.
