WL1835MODCOM8B: RTTT is not connected with wl1835 module and gives error

Hi,

I have tried to connect RTTT tool with wl1835 module and also tried to load firmware in it but it generated below error.

Download firmware fail : Error: ts18.Calling_ATE_DownloadFW() failed with error 101

Connection Fail : Error: Connection failed: Calling_ConnectTarget returned 4

Setup:

- WL1835 module connected with AM3351 host and booted up

- WL_RS232_TX and WL_RS232_RX pins connected to PC via a FTDI TTL-232R-3V3 cable.

- WL_IRQ = 1 by connected pull up resister 10K to 1.8v.

- Set COM port = COM3, baudrate = 926100 in RTTT tool.

- Followed RTTT document available at C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\Wireless Tools\Docs\SWAU085E_RTTT after successful installation of wireless tool.

Please give your valuable suggestion to solve the above issue.

Hi Ankit,

The RS232 interface is 1V8 compatible not 3V3 compatible. Please try using an FTDI TLL-232R 1V8 cable in place of what you are using.

Hi RIz,

Our setup for RTTT tool is described below:

- We have connected the WL1835 module with AM3351 processor and powerup the board. So the processor loads the firmware of WL1835 into the module and module works properly. Now we have connected the WL_RS232_TX and WL_RS232_RX pins with PC via FTDI TTL-232R-1V8 cable and tried to load firmware using RTTT tool and got the error as mentioned above.

Is this the correct setup for the use of RTTT tool?
Can you please give me the actual setup description of the use of RTTT tool ?

Hi Ankit,

A few suggestions to try:

1) Ensure that your RS232 cable RX is connected to WiLink TX
2) Ensure that your RS232 cable TX is connected to WiLink RX
3) Make sure that Wlan0 interface is down and then try to download the FW using RTTT.
4) you can use calibrator tool via the host. The instructions for this can be found at: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xx_TX_Testing
