CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: TIDC-01002 - Sub 1 Ghz Reference Design Question

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL

While going through and using the reference design, I cannot get the sub 1 Ghz network up on the gateway. When I open the webpage on the gateway it will not connect to the IBM cloud. (shows red light) Any ideas on how I can debug this?

  • Hi Nicholas,

    1. Have you followed the steps in the Reference Design User's Guide without errors, set up an IBM account, and edited the json code?

    2. Are you using the SimpleLink Starter Pro app (section 3.2.1.1.9.1 o or Local Provisioning webpage (section 3.2.1.1.9.2)?

    3. Are you seeing any error messages? What behavior are you seeing when you try to connect?

    Best regards,

    Sarah

  • Thanks for the reply Sarah. So I walked through the document again to make sure I didn't make any mistakes:

    1. Have you followed the steps in the Reference Design User's Guide without errors, set up an IBM account, and edited the json code?
    Yes this was done.

    2. Are you using the SimpleLink Starter Pro app (section 3.2.1.1.9.1 o or Local Provisioning webpage (section 3.2.1.1.9.2)?
I've tried using both. Both will work to get the gateway onto the internet.

    3. Are you seeing any error messages? What behavior are you seeing when you try to connect?
When I add the information in to connect to the cloud I click save and close. I refresh the webpage and cloud stays "red". I checked the IBM IoT logs and I get the following error in the logs: Closed connection from 162.194.xx.xxx. The operation is not authorized.

Also, when I go to the Cloud foundry app, the network mode is: Not started

    Thanks

    Nick
  • Hi Nick,

It looks like this issue is originating from the IBM side. Take a look at this post: developer.ibm.com/.../

    Best regards,
    Sarah
  • Thanks Sarah! This now connects to the cloud.

It still is giving the Network Mode: Not Started though and none of the sensors connect to it. I've worked through again to make sure I've followed this properly. Is there a way to see where the Sub 1G is either starting up or failing to start up?
