We purchased cc3220SF + ADS1118 form TI store , But we are unable to get ADS1118 data using CCS or enegia sketch , We were able to do the same in Arduino using MAX6675 , The Sketch is not uploading to the board , neither there is a library for ADS1118 in CCS , We just need to get temperature data from ADS1118 and view it in the serial monitor . Please help , Thanks in advance.

looks like you can use the MSP430G2553 example and port to CC3220SF, using CCS

this link above is for the BoosterPack which uses the MSP430G2553.

Is there a way to port the codes intended for one particular board(Say MSP430 to CC3220) to another one in CCS ? We saw many examples of temperature acquisition with MSP430 and CC3200 but none with cc3220 , Some say ads1118 and Energia is not Supported with CC3220 as for now , Simple sketches are working fine but ADS1118 seems to be unaccessible :(

We just want to get temperature data from ADS1118 stacked on to our cc3220SF , and view it on serial monitor , After that we might be able to play with it for our project . Our main issue is that we are not able to access ADS1118 from Energia , and we tried to improvise the "MSP430" project that you referred , that also hardly helped us, Any other suggestions??

Dear Josh , We already tried this sketch , and this is the main reason that we posted our issue in this forum , Despite being such a simple code , It returns an error "Cant compile for the board cc3220" We dont know whats wrong with it as the code is already given as an example by TI itself :(

Could you help us with code composer studio instead ? Because in that we are facing the issue that sketches are uploading to the board but we are not able to mirror the output in terminal , The code you sent for MSP430 seems to be logically correct , but we are facing dependency / Compatibility issues with c3220 , we tried some correction but nothing working . Nothing is mirrored either in the ADS1118 lcd or in Terminal!!

Dear smartmetalcasting -
i borrowed one of the boosterpacks from my MSP430 colleagues over the weekend and attempted to use the basic MSP430G2553 example, as a first step towards helping you out here. I tried the Energia and the c code examples given on the web - both are so old, i was not successful.

Next step here is to contact the ADS1118 folks here inside the company and get some help from them.

Sorry for the delay here - but i think we need some help from them to get updated examples - or worst case, debug and update what they have to the latest Energia and CCS. Please allow a day or so more for me us to come back to you with the plan here.

Dear Josh ,Thank you very much for responding , and ya , tried both , ie we tried to upload a code given by TI itself as in the link

But its not working , and we tried some CCS code similar to what u gave us, thats not working either :(

Quick follow up on this -

i bought another one of these BoosterPacks, checked everything was working in CCS v6.2 first, then moved the code to CCS v7.3 - it had several errors i was able to resolve, and there are still a couple warnings, but it does run now on MSP430G2553 platform.

will work on trying to get it over to the CC3220 next

here is the v7.3 version (still with warnings, but working, as i said)

Its OK Josh ! By the way ,we may hardly have any use with MSP430 code as we have already purchased cc3220 paying customs duty and shipping charges(total of $90)), we cant afford to buy msp430 for no reason, it would be a great thing if you could help us with cc3220 and ADS1118 ; Thanks again for your quick response!! have a great day :)
