BOOSTXL-CC3120MOD: Are the BOOSTXL-CC3120MOD and TMS570LC4357 Hercules compatible or any other variation of CC3120MOD WiFi Dev boards compatible with the Hercules Dev boards?

Hello TI,

I am looking to prototype a device that needs to include WiFI. I have purchased the BOOSTXL-CC3120MOD and I am looking to purchase the TMS570LC4357 LaunchPad Development Kit to pair with it. Will these two boards be able to talk over the GPIO Pins or do I need another dev board to make this connection happen?

Hi Matthew,

Is this a safety critical application or one which requires automotive qualification with the CC3120 device?

Note the TMS570LC4357 is not supported in the SimpleLink ecosystem so this would require the user to independently port the SimpleLink host driver to the device (instructions on how to do this are included in CC3100SDK_1.2.0\cc3100-sdk\docs\simplelink_api\programmers_guide.html).

You can check out this wiki page for basic requirements of the host when used with the CC3100--also relevant for CC3120.

Hi Austin,

Our designs have actually changed. For the Wifi chip, we need a chip that can live stream two cameras in 1080p 60fps. Are you aware of a chip that can accomplish this?

Though there is many kits with Wilink-8 I think that kit directly compatible with your LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 is not available. Questions related to Wilink devices is better to ask at forum e2e.ti.com/.../307
