I am new to WiFi development.

Using OOB demo Serial WiFi program, can I have my PC to detect CC3220 as found item in PC device list so that it can be assigned with virtual com port #?

Doing so, PC UI can select this virtual port number.

Visual Studio .NET 201 is used to develop User Interface software.

Hello,

If you are using the launchpad, it has XDS110 on it and it exposes VCP on the Device Manager.

Is that what you are looking for?

Thanks for your reply.

No, I will use that TX/RX to connect to our device comm. port by setting TX/RX jumpers.

Basically i am seeking bridge mode between our device to PC through WiFi.

If you want to connect over UART, you need to use some kind of a level shifter like XDS110 or FTDI.

If you want to "serialize" and implement serial-over-wifi, you can use the serial_wifi example as a reference.

Let me try t explain what am I trying to do.

Our current Electronic device communicate through RS-232 to PC Comm. port.

I placed CC3220 with Serial-over-WiFi to our Electronic device RS-232.

My PC detects CC3220 as WiFi, but I can't connect them since my UI is seeking virtual port #.
