Is there documentation on connecting a terminal to the CC31XXEMUBOOST debug port? I use Tera Term.

Hey Joanne,

Yes you can use Tera Term to open and read the serial port. What device are you trying to use? CC3100 or CC3120? You can view the Getting Started guides for either product to learn more on how to interface the two boards, and program the device.

Using CC3120...

I'm trying SWRU470 SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® CC3220 Out-of-Box Application. I currently have FTDI drivers installed on four comports. Do I need the XDS110 drivers instead?

I don't think so. This post is about connecting debug port to tera term. The other post is about connecting over Wifi and configuration needs.

I have four comports installed associated with the CC31XXEMUBOOST. Swru457 says the first and third are for flash programming... Page 15, Figure 14.

To use the debug port, I need to know which comport to connect tera term and the comport settings.

By debug port, I mean a serial connection that the board will send status and error messages so that I can see what's going on with the board without having a debugger. Does such a thing exist on the CC31XXEMUBOOST? There is one on the MSP-EXP432P401R LaunchPad.

the CC3120 BoosterPack is only programmable with a service pack as the CC3120 is a Wi-Fi Network Processor only. It is not containing an applications MCU that you would load a code example into and then download/debug (that would be CC3200 or CC3220).

To use the BoosterPack, you would program in the service pack into it, then plug the CC3120 BoosterPack into an MSP432 board, load an example (from here www.ti.com/.../SIMPLELINK-WIFI-CC3120-SDK-PLUGIN) into the MSP432 and proceed.
