CC3200: Part selection for PCB implementation

Part Number: CC3200

I have been using C3200 Launchpad and now I have decided for its PCB implementation, should I use http://www.ti.com/product/CC3200 or  http://www.ti.com/product/CC3200MOD  . Which software should I use for simulation and designing the PCB and implement the CC3200 design in it.

  • Hello Nibi,

One of the benefits of using the CC3200MOD is that the module integrates all required clocks, 1Mb serial flash, and passives which simplifies your PCB design.

If your application will require certification, another key difference is that the CC3200MOD is FCC certified as a single-modular transmitter that carries a modular grant. By following the TI antenna design/layout guidelines, you can take advantage of the modular grant and save time and money. More information on certifications can be found here.

For RF simulations and PCB design, I recommend using Advanced Design Systems and Altium respectively.
