TIDC-CC2530-CC2592EMK-RD: CC2592 RF output impedance

Part Number: TIDC-CC2530-CC2592EMK-RD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, CC2592, CC2591

Hi all,

Currently I am using CC2530 and the CC2591 in a device (in production). I received a notification saying that CC2591 is not recommended for new design and I have to use CC2592 instead. I now that there is a reference design for CC2530 + CC2592, but the problem for us is the stakup. TI uses a 1mm FR4 but I use 4 layers 0.8mm and the stackup is different, so matching will change. I am looking for the CC2592 RF impedance in order to adapt the matching network, but this param is not given in the datasheet...

I simulated TIDC CC2530-CC2592 EMK RD reference design which stakup is 1mm, according to www.ti.com/.../TIDC-CC2530-CC2592EMK-RD. Certainly the antenna impedance is 50 Ohms. However, if I am not wrong, the impedance at the CC2592 RF output, adding the EMI filter (according to SCH in the same link), is not 50 Ohms, it is far to be it. Please see attached images 1, 2 and 3. Please, note that L and C are the same reference of the TI BOM. If I change the TI stackup and I simulate the mine (0.8mm) the result change, of course, and the impedance is also far to be 50 Ohms.

Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks.

Joaquim.
