CC3200STK-WIFIMK: Can't connect to Local WiFi

I have a CC3200STK-WIFI. I can connect to it in AP mode. But, I can't add any other WiFi settings to the device. It seems like it won't save any settings. The results are similar when using either the iOS app (AP fall back) or the internal web app. I've tried dozens of times with multiple WiFi networks and several colleagues in support.

Any pointers?

Hi Robert,

What setting are you trying to add and how are you trying to add them? I believe all possible WiFi settings you can change are available through the Sensortag's web interface which is only available in AP mode.

I want to connect the SensorTag to my local network so i can push the telemetry data to the cloud. I've tried using the web interface but as soon as it reboots, the wifi settings are lost.

Hi Robert,

Are you adding a WiFi profile through the web interface then going into station mode? WiFi profile is not lost on reboot because it gets stored on flash.

Robert,

Once you add the WiFi profile it should automatically connect when you go into station mode.

That's the problem. It won't go into station mode. If i reboot, it's still in AP mode and the profile is not saved.

Hi Robert,

Once you have added a Wi-Fi profile to the sensortag, how are you setting the device into station mode? Have you tried to do so by using the GPIO-_4 button and holding it for 6 seconds (until it beeps) to toggle it from AP to station mode?

Ok, thanks., I think it's in station mode and the sensor is working. See images below

Now, how do i get it to send data to the IBM cloud??

This is the message I get.

"The device ID you have entered is valid, but we are waiting for your device to send us a message.

Get your device to send us some valid data - we'll visualize it for you!"

Hi Robert,

Are you entering the full mac address in the quick start site? Also have you upgraded the firmware?

IBM has laid out the steps to get it working.

i finally got it to work. The final answer was NEW BATTERIES. After you posted yesterday, I tried to follow the procedures but the device wouldn't turn on. So by replacing the batteries, it works 100%. I never thought to try that.
