CC3200: OTA has to be activated twice to work

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the OTA.

When I activate my OTA for the first time, it reset the MCU as wanted, with the new firmware but if I reset it manually after that, it comes back to the old version.

But, when I activate the OTA once, and then activate it once again without resetting the MCU manually between the two OTA, I manage to have the new version of the firmware when I reset manually the MCU.

Do you have any idea what might be wrong ?

Hi,

Once the new version is booted (following an OTA), it should be committed in order become operational (see use of EXTLIB_OTA_SET_OPT_IMAGE_COMMIT).

This should be done after you perform some basic functionality testing (e.g. connecting and pinging your router).

If you reset the MCU without committing the version, it will automatically revert to the old version.

This is a fail-safe mechanism that is intended to keep the device operational in case a new OTA image fails.

Indeed, the commit was after the function which waits that I press the button, so I had to press the button to commit. Button that is used to download the new version. So, indeed I had to press the button twice.

It now works as I wanted.
