CC3135MOD: CHIP id reporting 0x31000000

From a CC3135MOD I'm reading:

   CHIP 0x31000000

    MAC 31.3.0.0.25

    PHY 3.1.0.0

    NWP 4.0.1.33

    ROM 0

 

In the programming guide, section 3.5 page 36, it states the CC3135 should have a chip ID of 0x31100000 however the 0x31000000 being reported in the CC3120 chip ID.

Is this a known issue or is there a reason for this?

    Hi Aleksis,

    I assume you were reading the CHIP Id with the get version API or a tool like Radio Tool (which uses the get version API). As you seem to have noticed, there was a bug with the chip ID where it reflected the CC3120 version. It was fixed with a servicepack update, which is why using an updated CC3x35 servicepack resolves the issue.
