Hi All.

If I configure the host MCU to sleep mode and NWP into LPDS/Idle connected mode, will the current increase to mA when the ic sync up access point? Or the current will always stay in uA range?

Hi Niletz.

The uA numbers refer to average current. 710uA is the minimal current consumption of the NWP with DTIM of 1, i.e. beacon every 100msec - it can be reduced to around 200usec using the Long Sleep Interval feature. It can be a little bit higher than this depending on the AP behavior.

In the IDLE connect use-case the NWP toggles between LPDS and RX modes and thus we use averages.

Hi Kobi,

If the NWP sync with a beacon from AP happens on receive mode only? what is the max current reading during sync with the beacon?

RX power (when host in LPDS) is around 50mA (see https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/cc3235s.pdf).

in case there is unicast or broadcast data waiting for the station, it will use TX which can be up to 266mA .
