Hi,

We are testing CC3135 operations using MSP432P401R launchpad.

We are using both the boards for the first time. We attached the CC3135 booster pack on MSP432 lauchpad.

The network_terminal in example folder is started in debug mode in IAR.

I tested scan command and error msg was printed on terminal shown in log1. The return value of the fundtion 'sl_WlanGetNetworkList' is -2005 at location shown in screenshot1.

Also, when tested the wlan_connect error msg was printed on terminal shown in log1. The return value of the function 'sl_WlanConnect' is -2005 at location shown in screenshot2.

Are we missing something?

Hi Aniket,

Testing the network_terminal example on my MSP432+CC3135 I do not run into the same issue you are seeing.

Looking at your program output, it appears that the servicepack has not been flashed onto the CC3135. The servicepack contains a variety of fixes, and the examples in the plugin will require the use of the latest servicepack. Please follow the instructions in section 5 of the Uniflash CC3x3x guide to update the servicepack to the version distributed with the plugin: http://www.ti.com/lit/swru469

You can connect your CC3135 to your PC using the MSP432. I have a post here showing the connections needed:

The pinout of the headers of the CC3135 boosterpack is the same as that of the CC3120, so you can use those instructions to flash the latest servicepack onto the CC3135.

Flashing latest servicepack solved the problem.

Where can I find details about service pack. I just wanted to know why it is important and when do I need to flash the CC3135?

Hi Aniket,

The service pack is a file that contains fixes and new features for the network processor code that extend the ROM code of the CC3135. At a minimum the service pack is required to be programmed, and you should always use the latest released service pack. Service packs are released in each quarterly CC32xx SDK in the tools/cc3xxx_tools/servicepack-cc3xxx folder, and can also be found in the SimpleLink Wi-Fi plugin.
