Hi Experts,

Our customer is asking PCB-antenna-performance-data of CC3235MODAx module. Is there any helpful document/URL for this ? customer would like to compare PCB-antenna-performance with M830520’s perforamce ( http://datasheets.avx.com/ethertronics/AVX-E_M830520.pdf ). it will be appreciated if you will share your advice/comments.

Also, since customer would like to verify CC3235MODAx module exactly, we will suggest customer to replace CC3235MOD with CC3235MODASF on LAUNCHCC3235MOD (also, removing all components for antenna) . Would you think any concern for this suggestion?

Hi Takayuki,

The LAUNCHCC3235MOD board design is not intended for a CC3235MODA so the customer should not do this. Unfortunately, we do not have an EVM for CC3235MODAs that we can share with the customer.

Regarding replacement (CC3235MOD à CC3235MODASF), Can we have your more advice/comments, please?

According to those datasheets, customer noticed there is only one difference of pin-assign which is RF_ABG pin. Therefore, we believe it is possible to do this replacement.. we need to explain the reason why TI was not able to recommend.

TI is expecting that RF-performance is not so good ?

See 10.3.3 CC3235MODAx RF Layout Recommendations in the datasheet. The PCB layout guidelines here are for the CC3235MODAx that must be followed for the RF performance to be optimal. The LAUNCHCC3235MOD does not follow these guidelines.
