CC3135: support dual 2.5/5Ghz and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac

Part Number: CC3135
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1807MOD, WL1837MOD

Hi Team,

Do we have suitable WIFI for dual 2.5/5GHz and support 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac?

  • Hi,

There is no TI WiFi device with IEEE 802.11ac support at present time. CC3135 does not support 802.11ac, and for WiLink8 are currently no plans for 802.11ac support.

  • Hi Amelie,

As Jan mentioned, there is no TI device that supports 802.11ac at the moment. The CC3x35 devices as well as the WL1807MOD and WL1837MOD support 2.4GHz+5GHz. and if your customer doesn't have a hard requirement for 802.11ac then those devices can be suitable. As 802.11ac is a higher power + throughput standard, it is typically not required by Wi-Fi devices that do not require high data transfer rates such as typical IoT devices.

Let me know if you need more clarification or have further questions on this topic.

    Regards,

    Michael
