Dear,

We plan to use the CC3235MODSF for a new design. Before final confirmation we wanted to ask some general questions:

1) To confirm the CC3235MODSF is recommended for new designs

2) Is there any granted lifetime for the component?

3) What is the expected (not granted) lifetime?

4) The availability (octopart) of the component seem quite low. We expect to use a few hundreds in 2022 and increasing up to the low thousands in 3 years. Should we be worried about availability?

2&3. See section 3.1.3 of the Module Reliability Data appnote (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swra570).

The CC3235MODSF’s reliability data is also included in this appnote (https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/swrq064).

The Reliability Data states the MTBF (mean time between failures) and FIT (Failures in time. The number of failures per 1E9 device-hours).

MTBF is the “statistical approximation of how long a number of units should operate before a failure can be expected”.

4. I won't expect availability to be an issue.
