CC3100MOD: HW_INIT and FW_INIT

Part Number: CC3100MOD

Hi Experts,

Could you please let me know what is done at HW_INIT and FW_INIT after nRESET.
Also, could you please let me know what is done at HW_INIT and FW_INIT after nHIB.

Thank you for your check.
Best regards,
Hitoshi

  • Hi Hitoshi-san,

What does the customer mean by HW_INIT and FW_INIT? Do they mean the init sequence of the device as shown in figure 4-7 of the datasheet?

After the de-assertion of nRESET, the device will first initialize the low-level hardware, the needed peripheral interfaces, and radio. The precise startup sequence, timing diagram, and clock propagation is not public information. If the customer has a specific need to know this, please send me an email with their use case and reason they need to know.

For FW_INIT, this is simply the time it takes for the software to finish loading the servicepack, and be in a state ready to receive commands from the host. If there is need to know more specific information, again, please send me an email and we can discuss further.

At a high level, the customer does not need to be involved with the init sequence of the device, as long as the power and timing requirements as specified in the datasheet are met.

    Regards,

    Michael
