CC3130: SDK Support

Part Number: CC3130
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3120

Hi,

I'd like to use the CC3130 as an upgrade to an existing design using the CC3120.

When I look at the latest Simplelink SDK Wifi Plugin  4.20.00.10 July 2020, for example, the service packs provided are CC3x20 and CC3x35 and the CC3120 is not mentioned.

Is there a later SDK available?

Thanks

Andy

  • Hi Andy,

The host driver used for the CC3130 is the same as that of the CC3x20 and CC3x35. So the host driver in the Wi-Fi plugin will work with the CC3x30.

That being said, there hasn't been an update for the Wi-Fi plugin since the July 2020 release. So for the very latest host driver, you'll need to download the CC32xx SDK and copy over the host driver files in source/ti/drivers/net/wifi

Also, you should use the latest CC3x3x NWP servicepack file found in the latest release of the CC32xx SDK instead of the older version from the plugin. It can be found at tools/cc32xx_tools/servicepack-cc3x35. While the servicepack is labelled cc3x35, it also designed to work with cc3x30 devices.

Let me know if you need more clarification or have further questions on the correct SDK/host driver to use.

    Regards,

    Michael
