I want to capture probe request and response packets. Would it be possible using CC31xx/CC32xx modules ?

  • Hi Hardik,

Yes we can capture the probe request and response using cc3100 and cc3200.

Please refer to the 'sls_sniffer_with_filters' example in CC3100 SDK.

    Regards,

    Ankur

    Hello Ankur,
So probe requests can be captured without the CC3100 connected to any network (Just snooping out the probe request packets from the air) ?

  • In reply to Hardik Sanghavi:

    Hello Ankur,

Can we also get the RSSI values from the CC3100 modules for the probe request packets ?

    Thanks

    Hardik

  • In reply to Hardik Sanghavi:

    Dear Ankur,
Could you please answer what is an average power consumtion of CC3100 wifi chip running the sls_sniffer_with_filters example?
Are there any suggesions for battery operated Probe Request Sniffer to minimize power consumption of CC3100 chip?
    Thanks, Viktar
