Hi All,

So, today I got my CC3200 LaunchXL Rev3.2 out of the box and proceeded to follow the guides.

I could get the access point mode working, and connect it to my home network. In both of these modes, my iPhone couldnt control or update from the Launchpad, my wifes Android phone worked perfectly...but this is a side issue...

I followed the project0 guide, installing the IDE etc., but it took three tries (install/uninstall, install/uninstall, install) before I could get the APP CENTRE, button to respond and open the download page ( the other buttons seemed to work ok everytime).

Anyway, when I enter cc3200 in the search bar, I only see the RTOS app not the cc3200 wifi as the guide suggests.

I ploughed on, building the projects and changing the main.c file in the wlan station project.

But nothing seems to happen 'clicking ' debug, I'm not sure I'm running anything. I cetrainly dont get the D5,6&7 leds.

I have read a few posts complaining of similar issues, but couldnt see a complete answer.

Does anyone have an insight to my issues. So far, this eval board hasnt lived up to the 'look its so easy' videos, well certainly not in my case.

Hi Brandon,

Did you change the SSID_NAME, SECURITY_TYPE, and SECURITY_KEY to match your access point?

Hi Kel,

Yes, as instructed in the guide, I changed both of those defines to my home SSID and the WPA key type and the key itself.

I guess my main doubt is not adding the SimpleLinkWiFi add in, is that one of my issues?

Hi Brandon,

It says at the Getting Started Guide to install at the APP Center TI-RTOS for SimpleLink and CC3200 Add-on. If you have not done so, install it.

Hi Kel,

In my first post I explained that in the app centre, only the TI-RTOS was displayed. I didnt have the CC3200 icon to be able to select it.

So I installed the TI-RTOS but not the CC3200 app. I wonder if this is ONE of my issues. How can I find/install the CC3200 add in???

Hi Bradon,

There is one known issue when user updates its CCS version to CCS 6.0.1.00040.

For a workaround, I would recommend you install 6.0.1.00040 and install CC32xx support package during installation as shown below

Please check and let us know if it solves your problem. We are looking to fix this issue. Will update as we get more information.

Hi Brandon,

At the App Center type cc3200 at the search field and change "Relevance" to "All".

I believe I selected those as specified in the guide?

Anyway, I am away from my PC for a few days, I will let you know what I find.
