Reuse of FCC/IC/CE/MIC Certification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837

Hello,

I read this wiki page, and I got some question.

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../WL18xxMOD_Regulatory_Product_Certification

We are currently considering to adopt WL1837 with a dipole antenna which is different brand/model.

Q1. As for FCC, there seems to be no criteria as long as the antenna gain is equal/lower than the certified antenna. Does this mean, we can put the same FCC ID on our product and release it without any criteria or submission to FCC/TI?

Q2. For CE/MIC, is it MUST to ask Sporten, the certification laboratory introduced in the Wiki, to handle the application? Is it possible to provide POA for different certification authority (for example, a company in Japan) for the application for CE/MIC?

Best regards,

Shintaro

  • Hi,

A1. EMC test/SAR test is still a must – you still need to approach a TCB / lab for the testing.

A2. Telefication is the lab in Europe that can handle the MIC outside Japan.

For ETSI its self-declaration so either you do that yourself or find a lab to do that for you.

    Best Regards,

    Eric.
