Uniflash under linux (ubuntu)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CC3200

Hi,
I can't flash CC3200 with uniflash under Ubuntu 14.
Can we have the source code, as it is announced uniflash under linux is beta but there is no new version since a while. If not the source code a documentation clarifying the flashing algorithm.

  • Hi Jean,

Which Uniflash version are you using? The new v4 is available as a beta version, but does not include functionality with the CC3200. v3.4.1.00012 is available below: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Category:CCS_UniFlash

Additionally, please check the following if you are using a CC3200 Launchpad:

    1. The SOP2 jumper is connected (J15).

    2. The jumpers on J6 and J7 are in the "flash" position.

    3. You have disconnected from all other programs that may be using the COM port (including CCS debug and any terminals) before flashing.

    4. You have inserted the correct COM port into Uniflash.

    Best regards,
    Sarah

  • Hi,
I have installed the version you said.

Launch uniflash and new connection "C3x serial(UART...".

The launch pad has 2 serial port /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1. I have tried both with the same result. But i believe it is USB0 as it is the one the CC debuger use.
To check i click "Get version"
    and get :
    Begin GetVersion operation
    Executing operation : Connection
    Warning flush succeeded
    info: setting break signal
    info: please restart
    Error reading ACK
and loop to warning flush succeded

    i use ubuntu 16.

  • Hi Jean,

I'm sorry I did not catch this from your first post, but we do not support the CC3200 SDK on Linux machines at this time. Unfortunately, I am not able to test on my end what issues you may be seeing. Would you be able to try flashing the device from a Windows machine?

    Thanks,
    Sarah
  • Hi,
    I don't know windows.
Code Composer doing well under linux, is there a way via a linker script to have the debugger loading the code to the flash memory.

  • Hi JP,

Code Composer and Uniflash both work with Linux because they are tools used with other TI devices that support Linux platforms for development. The Simplelink Wi-Fi devices do not. Our team does not have any experience developing for the CC3200 on a Linux machine, so unfortunately, I have nothing to suggest.

    Best regards,
    Sarah

  • Ok,thanks for your answer.
