Hello,

I'm trying to program a CC3220MODSF via UART using a simple FT232 USB adapter and the SimpleLink Image Creator (part of Uniflash 4.1) . Whenever I try to connect, I get the Message "Operation failed: Unhandled exception: Auto detect failure". It seems as if the tool is not using my serial port, how can the port be set manually? Is there any other way to access the module?

Hi Steffen,

Uniflash/Image Creator is configured to program through Launchpad. Please try using jumpers from the Launchpad XDS UART interface.

Hi Aaron,

thanks for your answer. I don't have one but will a CC3200 LaunchPad also work?

There is no other tool available?

Hi Steffen,

The automated reset is the core of the issue here. The CC3220 Launchpad is the only straightforward way to do this. The CC3200 launchpad can be used, if a wire is connected from the reset line (around SW1) on the CC3200 Launchpad to the CC3220 nReset. Other UART can be used, but reset needs to be triggered manually, and at a specific time after pressing the Program Image button (when Uniflash says "Starting...").
