CC3200STK-WIFIMK: Getting the CC3200STK-WIFI device to start up correctly

Hi,

This is the second one of these devices i am having issues with.

After doing  soft reset i.e. keeping both buttons pressed for 6 seconds, the device beeps and then reboots.  

After  a couple of seconds it shows in my list of wireless end-point but the IP is 169.254.x.x and not the 192.168.1.1 that it came configured as.  i cannot access any of the services that i should be able to.

How do I get this device to work again?

    Hi Zacharias,

    It sounds like your SensorTag has been provisioned to use a network with an IP of 169.254.x.x. Resetting the Sensortag by holding down both buttons does not clear the network profiles.

    To get the SensorTag to use the default network settings, you will have to use the SensorTag's web interface to remove any profiles you don't want it to use. To do this, connect a device to the same network as the SensorTag and then use a web browser to navigate to the SensorTag's IP address. This works while the SensorTag is in both AP and Station modes, so assuming that the SensorTag is in Station mode and incorrectly configured to use 169.254.x.x and you can't connect that that network for some reason you should be able to switch the SensorTag into AP mode by holding the button marked GPIO_4 for four seconds. That will allow you to connect your device with a web browser to the SensorTag-XX network broadcasted by the SensorTag.

    Once you have joined the same network and navigated to the SensorTag's IP address on your browser, the SensorTag should then display a status page with information such as its current network mode, its IP address, etc. Click on the profiles tab, and at the bottom of that page there will be a list of profiles that are stored on the SensorTag. Remove the incorrect profile and then add the correct profile details for your router. Once you've done, power cycle the SensorTag and toggle the SensorTag back into Station mode. That should get it to use your desired network settings and allow you to use the phone app to access the sensor data following the steps in this guide.
