CC3220: Does the CC3220 HTTP Server Supports CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing)?

My question is whether the CC3220 HTTP server supports Cross-Origin Resource Sharing?

I found this post for the CC3200. In the thread it states that CORS is not supported by the CC3200. Is this the same case for the CC3220?

I don't think it is supported by CC3220.
I'll double check it tomorrow to confirm.

I think Kobi have right. But nothing prevent you run http server in host and implement this by your code.

Hi Again,

Running the entire HTTP server on the host is an option, but you can still use the internal HTTP Server for static pages and leave the CORS requests an application response.
In general this can be supported by providing this response header in the metadata of the response using the callback in the Host.
This seems enough since the target resource is anyway not on the device and the response in this case is most probably not a static page that could be handled by the NWP alone.

BTW. how are you going to use the HTTP Server? as an Access Point, in this case what are the other domains that you you try to access or as a station?

Jan,

The HTTP server would only be accessible with the CC3220 running in AP mode. This is used for custom provisioning with a web application.

I can setup the CORS responses within my application responses so I've been able to work with that. However, I'd like the HTTP server to be exchanging information over SSL. I've looked into CC3120, CC3220 SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® and Internet of Things Network Processor (Rev. C) Section 9.8.2 that goes over this. What would happen if the HTTPS certificate were to expire?

In AP mode, how will the CORS work without connection to another domain?

SSL can be used using the internal HTTP Server or over an external implementation.

The SSL certificates can be updated using OTA.
