Hi,

I can read and write a file on the CC3220 using the bootloader UART after having programmed the device in Development mode with Uniflash. However when I try the exact same thing with the device programmed in Production mode it does not work, I get a NACK when reading the file info.

Note: The file has no option (Fail safe, secure)

Is it expected? Shall we be able to read/write unsecure file in production mode?

Hi Cedric,

In production mode the contents are still encrypted, and reading/writing the files from Uniflash is not possible. IF you want to do that, you will have to create a mechanism to accept files in the host code

Hi Aaron,

Ok, thanks for the clarification. However I do not understand the reason of having a public write/read in this security concept.

Since mcuflashimg.bin must be signed and is the only file which effectively allows access to any file (in production mode), it is like if all files are already protected and make the token kind of redundant. Or am I missing something?

The purpose of the public/private read/write access is useful for CC31XX where the host interface is exposed externally (SPI), and therefore the files could be accessed through that interface

Ok, thanks for the feedback!
It would be very interesting to allow it externally on the CC3220 then!

For now I will implement the same thing in my firmware...
