CC3200: About Camera Capture issue

Part Number: CC3200

Hi SIr

In below link, we found CC3200 can supports capture and streaming of: Video - 720p @ 15FPS

   http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDC-CC3200-VIDEO

In our request, we need to support Camera interface >= 1920x1080 pixels. And only to capture picture only( no need for video)

And the max. loading of CC3200 is to upload a 1920x1080 jpeg format picture and sensor data  to cloud

Does CC3200 can meet above requirement ?  if yes, does TI have any suitable camera sensor to meet the requirement ?

please advise

  • Yimin,

I do not have a suggestion about what a suitable camera sensor could be for your application. I would suggest working backwards though. Our device has a 8 bit Parallel Camera Interface (Non-BT) with a max pixel clock of 1 MHz. I would search for image sensors that fit that category, and see if you can find one that is 1080p.

My assumption is that you might need to use a different peripheral on our device to get higher resolution images, for example a camera sensor that has a SPI connection.
