WL1807MOD: Certification for European "RED" directive

One of my customers is looking for test report for EN 300 440 for this WL1807MOD device. The certification house they are working with is requesting those reports which is required for RED. Was WL1807MOD certified through this spec?

I found this link online and it says that the this test is not required since 5.7-5.8Ghz frequencies are disabled on the device. The customer says they can get the module to transmit in that range so does that mean they need to disable something? Its for their European model - let me know if they have to disable so the module doesn't transmit in that range.

WiLink8 is capable of transmitting on channels 149, 153,157, 161 , 165 (These are in the range 5745 - 5825 MHz ), but these channels are not enabled for ETSI / CE. Most likely your customer is not setting the country code and WiLink8 might be defaulting to WW mode where these channels are enabled. Please ask customer to set country code using command "iw reg set <country>" or set the country field in wpa_supplicnt.conf

Thank you for pointing this out - that has solved their problem!

They did however ask another question about completing Annex G of the ETSI EN 301 893 V2.1. - is this something that we normally do as a manufacturer of the module? The customer is incorporating the module into their project and asked if we have this information/form is already filled out?

Hi Dmitry,

We do not have the form pre-filled out as it can vary based on the end product. Of course there are some items that remain the same. We recommend that the customer fill out this and if they need some help with particulars we can them help them with it.
