Hi all,

Happy new year! :)

Is there a way to disable the internal HTTP apis at will through a software SL call?

Our application uses those during the provisioning process but we need to turn them off in normal behaviour avoiding that some malicious user could compromise the system.

Hi FP,

You can use API:

sl_NetAppStop(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);

Few thing you should check:

if NWP restart is mandatory after calling API (according documentation it should not be, but better to check this)
if not mandatory to call Stop API for each mode (STA/AP) separately (this problem was with CC3200, but I suppose that this fixed at CC3220

Hi FP,

You can use sl_NetAppStop() to disable the internal HTTP server. Please see the host driver API guide in the SDK documentation folder.

Hi,

thanks both for the replies.

Does this command stop the HTTP server completely?

Is there a way to preserve the server disabling only the implicit apis?

Hi FP,

According SWRU455 you should try to use SL_NETAPP_HTTP_ROM_PAGES_ACCESS option. After changing setup, NetApp restart is required.

SWRU455 at page 140: Enable access to the configuration pages stored in the ROM of the device and processing of the RESTful APIs.

The correct way to do this is the following?

sl_NetAppStart(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID); // make sure it's enabled



sl_NetAppStop(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_ROM_PAGES_ACCESS );

sl_NetAppStop(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);

sl_NetAppStart(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);

Take this as pseudo code, then I will add return value checking.

You should use:

sl_NetAppSet(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID, SL_NETAPP_HTTP_ROM_PAGES_ACCESS,...)
sl_NetAppStop(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);
sl_NetAppStart(SL_NETAPP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);
