We are studying if our device using the wl1837mod can implement MIMO on 5GHz.with the latest tag R8.7-SP3 of the kernel git.ti.com/wilink8-wlan/wl18xx.

WL1837MOD supports MIMO on 2.4 GHz band and not 5 GHz band.

Thanks for the answer. so I'd have the following questions need be confirmation

if the tag R8.7-SP3 of wlconf able to config 2 antenna for 5G is dedicated for 5G diversity
if the antenna hardware be modified to meet requirements of 5G diversity, 2.4G MIMO function can still work?

Hi,
WL18x7MOD hardware supports 5 GHz antenna diversity but not MIMO : www.ti.com/.../swaa161.pdf
You cannot make h/w mods to the module to support 2x2 MIMO on 5GHz.
