WL1837MOD: WL1837 Bluetooth power level questions

Part Number: WL1837MOD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837

Driver version : MCP 8.2 SP2

Firmware version : wl18xx_bt_sp_v4.3

1)      As per listing on Bluetooth SIG WL1837 is listed to be Class 1 Bluetooth radio ( 11 dBm BR, 7.2 dBm EDR ). These power levels fall in between class 2 and class 1. What is the motivation for selecting these levels if approximate range of 100 m cannot be met?

2)      We would like to operate WL1837 as class 2 device ( 4 dBm ). Can you please send us exact sequence of commands to achieve this. Attached BTS file is used within our system and does not have any 0xFD82 HCI commands.  Our system does not use ANT/BLE technologies.

3)      Will reduction in Tx Power ( Class 2 ) cause any issues with existing power levels for WiFi? Please provide any information on overall impact other than range for above listed  power change.

4)      Does modifying BTS file to support class 2 invalidate Bluetooth SIG declaration/qualification. We plan to go through a declaration process and must certify that no changes have occurred to Bluetooth modules/firmware/software.
