CC3100: CC3100

Part Number: CC3100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi,

DriverCodeSnapshot.zipThe Wi-Fi init is not happening in few boards.

LPC1778 is interfaced with Wi-FI 3100.

After initialization of GPIO at LPC we call Wi-fi_init ().

Attached are the screenshots of different functions called with in the wifi_init(). (attachment is same as previous mail)

It is getting stuck in _sl_start().

  • Hi Arockia,

If the problem is happening only in some boards, while using the same software, then the problem should be in hardware. Can you provide a description of your setup?

    -Aaron

  • We have produced around 500 boards.

Our manufacturer has replaced WiFi chip in 40 boards said that they confirmed with TI, there was an issue in lot

    Our Observation:

Did the EOL test, Wi-Fi test failed. Tried to debug the issue found out Controller (LPC-U5) is able to interact (SPI communication) with the Wi-Fi chip (CC3100-U2), but Wi-Fi chip is not able to connect to the Wi-Fi Access Point/Modem.

H/W:    input voltage at FB24 to GND is 3.3V. And voltage at L5 to GND was <1.8V (in working board it is always 1.8V matching the datasheet value).

Note:   Was able to format the Wi-Fi firmware and update with new firmware using CCS uniflash.

Please find the attached block digram of Wifi Connection in the design.

  • Is the issue here resolved after replacing the devices?

    -Aaron

  • Hi Arockia,

We haven't heard back from you in a week, so we are assuming that you were able to resolve your issue. If this isn't the case, please click the "This did NOT resolve my issue" button and reply to this thread with more information. If this thread locks, please click the "Ask a related question" button and in the new thread describe the current status of your issue and any additional details you may have to assist us in helping solve it.

    Best Regards,
