CC3220MODA: CC3220MODASF12MONR programming

Part Number: CC3220MODA
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi,

I have a board designed with CC3220MODASF, not able to program the device. Can I use GPIO3 & GPIO4 for the flash programming? Could you please let me know if any additional setting are required for using GPIO3 & GPIO4. The error I am getting is 1170., recently updated the emulation package to 8.2, SOP1 is pulled high.

Thanks

Sheena

  • Hi Sheena,

Programming from Uniflash software is possible via UART pins with alias GPIO_01 and GPIO_02. Pins GPIO_03 and GPIO_04 cannot be used for communication with Uniflash software.

For development purpose (Debug from CCS) are used JTAG pins (TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK). By default is CC3220 device in production mode. In this mode is JTAG not enabled. For enabling JTAG is mantatory switch device into development mode. This can be done via Uniflash software.

  • Hi Sheena,

As was mentioned by Jan, you can only use GPIO1/GPIO2 (pin55/pin57) for programming the CC3220 using Uniflash. Those are the pins that the bootloader is configured in ROM to use for UART bootloader commands.

Please follow the guide here for how to use Uniflash: http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AH9w8QwBrpt-RLlf.VRAvg__fc2e6sr__LATEST

Let me know if you need more clarification or have further questions on flashing the CC3220.

    Regards,

    Michael
